Nutrition Consultations
Personalized nutrition guidance for lifelong health
What your pet eats each day can influence nearly every aspect of their health—from growth, energy, and digestion to mobility, disease management, and even longevity.
But the right diet depends on more than your pet’s life stage or the pet food label.
Your pet’s health history, lifestyle, food preferences, and changing needs all play a role.
By understanding how those pieces fit together and drawing on a deep understanding of pet nutrition, we can provide guidance that nourishes your pet’s health every day.
At Aqueduct Animal Hospital, veterinarian Dr. Sierra Bouchard provides in-depth nutrition consultations for healthy pets and those with complex medical needs.

Your Pet's Plan
Depending on your goals, your pet’s plan may include:
Commercial Diet Recommendations
A researched list of hand-selected products that match your pet’s nutritional priorities. Each recommendation includes a clear explanation so you understand what you’re feeding your pet and why.
Personalized Homemade Diets
A complete and balanced recipe formulated for your pet’s ideal weight, life stage, and health needs. Guidance may include appropriate substitutions, nutritional supplements, feeding amounts, preparation, storage, and monitoring guidance.
Combined Feeding Plans
When greater flexibility is needed, combined plans pair appropriate commercially-prepared diets with an individualized homemade formulation to help you consistently meet your pet’s needs.
What to Expect
Deeper Understanding
Before the appointment, Dr. Bouchard will review your consultation request and your pet’s medical records to develop a fuller understanding of their health and nutritional needs–as well as your concerns.
Thorough Assessment
Your pet will receive a hands-on examination, followed by an in-depth conversation about their current diet, health, preferences, and your goals. Additional diagnostics may be recommended when needed.
A Personalized Plan
You’ll receive detailed recommendations and clear, easy-to-follow instructions specific to your pet. Most plans are completed within approximately seven to ten days to allow time for records gathering, research, and plan design.
Continued Support
Pets aren’t always on board with their new diet plan. We’re available to help with food aversions and initial questions as you transition your pet’s diet. For ongoing medical concerns, additional follow-up appointments or virtual consultations may be recommended to monitor progress.
Better Nutrition Starts With Knowing Your Pet
By combining nutritional expertise with a deep understanding of your pet’s health, lifestyle, preferences, and medical needs, we can help you explore feeding options that support them today—and as their needs change.
