Career At Aqueduct
At Aqueduct Animal Hospital, our team members are as much of a priority as our patients and clients. We’re an eclectic mix of animal lovers on a mission to make a difference in the lives of pets and their people. If you want to grow and advance in the veterinary field and feel like part of a team that shares the same goals, we’re your place. You’ll find that our commitment to our staff is just as strong as our commitment to the health and well-being of our patients, and we are constantly working to create an outstanding practice culture and work/life balance.
Welcoming. Knowledgeable. Dedicated. Honest.
That’s the way our clients and our employees describe us, and if it sounds like the kind of place you’d like to work, we’d love to hear from you.
We’re always interested in meeting potential team members who share our goals. If that’s you, read on!
Why Aqueduct?
- We will always value your opinions and contributions, and we collaborate regardless of position or rank.
- We’re all about making sure our team members have the work/life balance they need.
- As an independent, privately-owned practice, we’re not tied to corporate mandates or structure, so we have the time and motivation to invest in you and help you achieve your goals and develop a specialty if that’s your desire.
- Our practice is in a beautiful part of the country! Located in the Capitol District of upstate New York at the foot of the Adirondacks, Rexford has an average cost of living but above average cultural and recreational opportunities. There’s ample arts, sports, and outdoor recreation including hiking, fishing, golf, skiing/boarding, snowmobiles, and ice fishing. The schools are great, and you’ll enjoy a laid-back, low-traffic lifestyle just 30 minutes from Albany or Saratoga Springs.
Who We Are
At Aqueduct Animal Hospital, we only sell one product: a better relationship between people and their pets. We believe that the best way to accomplish this is by being:
Welcoming and Respectful: Our clients are people from all walks of life. We treat everyone with respect, regardless of who they are, how much money they have in their bank accounts, and how they treat us (as long as they do not create an abusive or threatening environment for our staff). We do not gossip about each other or let poor attitudes and behavior affect our collective culture. We address issues with all staff members in a timely and meaningful way.
Knowledgeable: We continue to promote continuing education for ALL staff members to help everyone learn and grow as employees and people. We will work to provide the best outcome for our pet patients in every situation, and if we are limited in the scope of the products and services that we offer, we will provide the best alternative options for the patients we serve.
Honest: We have integrity in everything that we do, and this value extends to our interactions with clients and each other. We strive to be transparent to our clients with our costs and recommendations, perceived outcomes, and prognoses in their individual cases. When we promote products and services, it is because we believe that those products and services will benefit our clients’ pets.
Safe: We will not put each other in a position where someone can get injured. When aggressive animals come into the practice, we will not expect someone to perform a task on an animal where there is a high risk of injury. Staff members will not be put in a position where they could be injured by a client or another employee, and we will never knowingly employ anyone who creates a threatening work environment.
